Mechanical Engineering Student Represented Asia as Student Expert at Autodesk University (AU-2015) in Las Vegas, USA 28/11/2015 To 06/12/2015

After winning the "3D Design Challenge 2014" conducted by Autodesk along with two other team members, Mandeep Singh Kapoor, a B Tech 3rd year students of mechanical Engineering Department of MNIT Jaipur represented India in Shanghai along with them. But his journey with Autodesk didn't end there, instead it was just the beginning.
After coming back from Shanghai he applied for an internship and was finally selected as a Design Intern to work with the Fusion 360(one of the modeling software of Autodesk) team based in Pune, India. He worked during the summer vacation and completed his internship in July 2015 with excellent feedback from the industry mentors. In the month of August 2015, Mandeep was invited at International Education Summit-2015 sponsored by Autodesk, held in Mumbai. The big news came in the month of October when he got selected to represent Asia as an Student Expert in Autodesk University (AU-2015) in Las Vegas, USA for manufacturing category. It was a fully funded trip where the organizers have invited 29 students throughout the globe in Manufacturing, Median & Entertainment(MnE) and Architectural Engineering & Construction (AEC).
As Mandeep narrated that it was a huge a gathering of more than 10000 people. Most of them were from the architecture, engineering, manufacturing, film and gaming Industries. Some entrepreneurs whose entrepreneurship was totally based on Autodesk software also participated. Their entrepreneurship ideas were very remarkable. The main event started on 1st of December and there were various parallel sessions on building, construction, manufacturing and design.
These sessions were conducted by the industrialist themselves who had good hands on. There was even an huge Exhibit hall where various companies like Autodesk , true Scan 3D, bluescape, Canon, Universal Robots etc. showcased their current and future technologies. There were few student research project showcased. The technology and the projects showcased were really out of the box ideas. One technology showcased was of bartender Robots automatically serving the drinks to customers based on their batch scanning. The CEO of the various companies who used Autodesk Software for running these business gave a presentation at the Innovation Forum section. He was really surprised to see the way they were using technology for running their companies making it a really learning experience. He met some of the professionals from the mechanical and designing background and was able to form a good bond with them. They were really helpful and were ready to guide the students. He networked with many Indians professionals who were working in Las Vegas.

The entire event lasted for 3 days till 3rd of December and packed off with a huge party at one of the happening places in Las Vegas. The exposure he gained there is definitely going to benefit him in particular and all the MNIT students in general. The sessions which he attended there has helped him in enhancing designing skills and has made him more motivated towards achieving goal in life. He made some good friends there and had networking with some of the professionals, who could be helpful in his future projects. Socially also the time spent in Las Vegas was memorable for ever to cherish for a student as the people were very appreciative and city was found to be very amiable and stunning.
Dr. Harlal Singh Mali, a faculty at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Academic Council Member at Autodesk India commented that students like Mandeep, given a chance could be among the best in the world and motivation for the others. He would be sharing his experience and exposure to all his class mates and juniors in the state of the art / science in the world of Design and Manufacturing.
